Lactobacilli MRS Dry Agar

Agar medium used for the selective isolation and enumeration of lactobacilli.

Procedure and interpretation:

  1. Mix 70.0g of the medium in one litre of purified water until evenly dispersed.
  2. Heat to boiling with repeated stirring to dissolve completely.
  3. Distribute and autoclave at 121°C for 15 minutes.
  4. Final pH: 5.3 +/- 0.2 at/à 25ºC
